Wild Horses and Burros Need YOU!

Wild horses and burros in America today need you. Caught in a huge machine of public land management, overshadowed by profit driven interests, the "voice" of the wild horse and burro is drowned out.

In just one second our camera can catch 8 frames. Within those eight frames we are recording the disapperance of America's herds forever. Are we recording history or changing it?

With the push of a button we publish articles and action items on our website. Is that information important enough to "we the people" to read and then act? Or are we happy with how our public land is managed and choose to do nothing?

That is a question you must decide.

BLM Advisory Board to Meet

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board will meet August 25th in Riverton, Wyoming.

You DO NOT have to attend to submit comments to the board.

We appreciate and agree with public sentiment that these board meetings are a source of frustration. Used primarily as an opportunity for press and propaganda, WHE will not attend but will submit written comment.

Dr Boyd Spratling, current co chair of the board, has been active in creating "anti" wild horse propaganda in support of a legal action in the state of Nevada (NACO) aimed at broad scale removals of wild horses, and even their destruction.

It is important that "we get it on the record" that the public wants wild horses and burros protected, but has no faith in the ethics of the board itself. No matter how frustrating this process is, we must continue to engage it. SEE WHE comments HERE and add send yours today! http://wildhorseeducation.org/2014/04/13/whe-comments-to-the-advisory-board/

Inhumane treatment MUST STOP! WHE has gained multiple court orders against inhumane treatment.  BLM does not change and has simply talked about a policy for far too long!

PLEASE TAKE THIS ACTION BEFORE THE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING>>HERE

WHE is active in legal actions, including our fight against NACO to stop them from destroying our wild horses. More than half of our nations last remaing wild horses run free in the state of Nevada. Stay informed on the Battle in Nevada HERE

Wild Horse Education is devoted to gaining protections for our wild horses and burros from abuse, slaughter and extinction. Our work has brought issues "from the ground, to the public and the courtroom."

Please join us as we continue to work for real change through action.

WHE is a registered 501(c)3 public charity

Sheldon

The Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife agency (USFWS) finished the first phase of the final removal of mustangs and burros.

Our legal efforts were able to gain public observation of the historically "closed door" roundups and removed a notorious contractor that repeatedly failed to provide protections from slaughter. Yet so much remained unfinished.

Today over 300 Sheldon mustangs and burros sit in a holding facility awaiting shipment to contractors that will take them far from home.

The lesson of Sheldon must never be forgotten. If we do not stand united and informed, America will lose her symbol of freedom.

Wild and Free...

Join us to make sure that wild horses and burros are not simply a chapter of America's history.
