AUSTRALIAN EVENTING LEGEND ANNOUNCED AS WEG CHEF D'EQUIPESydney 2000 Olympic gold medallist & Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist Stuart Tinney (OAM) will take up the role of Chef d’Equipe with the Australian Equestrian Eventing Team ahead of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018, in the USA. Another major change is the ramping up of the jumping phase coaches to provide Australia’s riders with the best opportunities wherever they are based around the world. Rod Brown will be based in Australia with the major addition of Brazilian jumping icon Nelson Pessoa. UK based Gareth Hughes will continue in his role as Dressage coach for the Australian Eventing Team. OATLEY RETURNS TO RINGAustralian dressage rider Kristy Oatley and her chestnut star Du Soleil made a great start to 2018 at the seventh leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2017/2018 Western European League in Neumunster, Germany, recording two scores over 70 %. "I feel that our Winter break was successful. Duse was so much more focussed on using his positive energy in the test to his advantage." said Oatley. BUENOS AIRES 2018 SUMMER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES SELECTION CRITERIAEquestrian Australia (EA) has released its nomination and selection criteria for the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games. TRIFECTA FOR ALEXIS HELLYER29-year-old Alexis Hellyer has made it a trifecta at Willinga Park CDI***, with a victory in the Grand Prix Freestyle to Music today after winning the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special on the NSW South Coast. Riding the chestnut stallion Bluefields Floreno, owned by JJ Fuchs, Alexis performed a mistake-free freestyle for a score of 75.53%. She has trained and coached for over 40 years and is a sports horse breeder on her farm in America. EIAF are pleased to announce their association with Matt Harnacke, International Model and #1 Equestrian Influencer worldwide. Matt has been named by Vogue Australia as ’the face to watch’; at just 21 years of age his modelling career has taken him all around the world with high end and commercial brands.
