Greetings, It would be fair to say that the Chapter is still feeling rather elated, given the large scale success of the Metro TED Symposium that took place on 18 and 19 August 2021. The symposium was held in partnership with Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs - ANDE, Cities Support Programme (CSP) of National Treasury, Neighbourhood Development Partnership Programme (NDPP) of National Treasury, the European Union funded Ecosystem Development for Small Enterprises Programme (EDSE) programme of the DSBD and DALRRD, The World Bank, Sustainable Livelihoods Foundation NPC and other critical players. The Symposium received widespread exposure and traction, some of which has been shared under the 'ANDE Updates' section. Another boost of confidence also came in the form of the Absa Business Day Supplier Development Awards Digital Dialogue which canvased a compelling discussion based on the theme: ‘What Women Want’. The highly experienced panel included Joanne Joseph, Michal Pillay, Violet Lupuwana, Kgatile Nkala, Chantal De Kock and ANDE South Africa Regional Chapter
Manager, Sekai Chiwandamira. View the recording. We also basked in the glory of World Entrepreneurs' Day, celebrated on 21 August, as the African Management Institute (AMI) paid tribute to several leading women,
including Sekai Chiwandamira, that have helped businesses to thrive in South Africa. We would like to thank AMI for using this opportunity to further encourage social and ethical business practices that propel women entrepreneurs.
