“Unprecedented” PASTOR'S BLOG I don’t know about you, but lately, I’ve been noticing the repeated appearance of the simple word, “unprecedented”—defined as “never done or known before,”
i.e., unparalleled, unequaled, unmatched, unrivaled. And it seems to be on everybody’s lips these days. “Unprecedented.” Here’s a googled list of headlines in which the word appears: “Wildfires 2020: The California, Washington, Oregon fires are unprecedented” (Vox); “Covid-19 drives leaders to make unprecedented interventions but what next” (The Guardian); “Climate Change: ‘Unprecedented’ ice loss as Greenland breaks record” (BBC); “Belarus massive and unprecedented protests” (NPR); “Arkady Dvorkovich: 'It is clear that today the world is facing an unprecedented crisis’” (RealNoevremya); and one more from among dozens, this one the understatement of the day, “San Francisco prepares for unprecedented November election” (SFBay). Pandemic Celebration of the Cross
October 3 Please mark Sabbath, October 3 (9:00/11:45 AM) for a joyful celebration of the Lord's Supper as a worshiping community. While we will participate with actual emblems of bread and wine, because of the pandemic the elements will be prepackaged for your safety. These packaged elements will be available for your pickup (for off-site use during live stream worship) at the church office this next week (Monday, September 28 through Sabbath, October 3). On-site worshipers October 3 will receive the packaged communion elements upon arriving for worship Sabbath morning.

I think what's different for me today is that I depend on God more... after 20 years of all that I’ve been through... I realize my best teaching comes when I’m prepared and I’m ready, but then I let God unfold the day...”

Over time, recommendations from health-care leaders in government and academia have proposed different methods to best protect from contracting the COVID-19 virus. One area that has received a lot of attention is the wearing of masks.
