Media Release Wild Territory injecting over $1.3m into Local Economy13 October 2021 Our very own backyard will soon be seen by over 200 million viewers from around the world, as the second series of Matt Wright’s Wild Territory is set to air on the Nine Network and Netflix. The Territory Government has contributed $250,000 in production funding towards Wild Territory, with the action-packed show taking viewers into Wright’s world as a part time animal relocator, conservationist and successful tourism entrepreneur. In the series Matt is joined by his beautiful wife Kaia and young son Banjo, as they wrestle crocs, reel in barras and tackle a tourism business - all the while giving viewers a front row seat to the Territory’s breathtaking outdoors. Wright, who is soon to appear in an upcoming Tourism Australia campaign is one of the true success stories out of the Northern Territory and now considered a global export. After successfully broadcasting around the world on the National Geographic Channel, this is the latest global partnership for Matt Wright, which includes new production partner Beyond. The Territory Government recognises the importance of our screen sector and is supporting the growth of local practitioners and businesses and showcasing distinct Territory stories to national and international audiences.
