This team installed a new kitchen at the Keys OPC housing facility in Key West!

Can Your Church Use a Team?

... through love serve one another.
Gal. 5:13 (ESV)

Short-term missions do not have to involve overseas travel, passports, inoculations, or large commitments of time. Helping out another OP church right here in the USA is a great way to serve!

The S.T.O.R.M. Report can help your church find the help it needs to carry out something like a construction project, VBS, ministry, or local outreach. When your church makes these needs known, it provides opportunities for service for those who are eager to share their time and talents with their brothers and sisters in the OPC.

OPC'ers from Illinois, Alabama, and Florida recently traveled to Key West, Florida, to install a new kitchen at the Keys OPC facility that houses teams that come for evangelism training with Pastor Bill Welzien. (Scroll down to read "Team Work in Key West!")

Other examples you've read about in previous S.T.O.R.M. Reports include:

  • OPC'ers from California and Michigan formed Team Utah and met in Magna, Utah, to help refurbish the large OP church building inside and out.
  • OPC'ers from Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin formed Team Brick and traveled to Brick, New Jersey, to help the OP church there with ongoing reconstructive work following Hurricane Sandy.
  • OPC'ers from Pennsylvania traveled to Texas to help the OP church in San Antonio with Mission Tejas - VBS, maintenance projects, and local outreach.

We are commanded to use our gifts in serving one another!  Is there something that your church could undertake if it had help from another OP church or presbytery?

Team Work in Key West!

Team Work in Key West!

Members of OP churches from three different states formed a team that met in Key West this month to work on a renovation project at Keys OPC. They turned a space that previously served as a kitchen/ eating/ sitting/ working/ storage area into a large, beautiful new kitchen!

Project organizer Bob Keys says, “What an improvement this was! Thanks to each member of the team that gave of their time and energy to make this major improvement for Keys Presbyterian Church and the ministry of KEM.”

Want to help?

There is still molding and 1,000 square feet of laminated flooring to be installed in Key West! If you can help, contact Bob Keys at  bobkeys50@hotmail.com.
