Are We Lying About America? Are we lying about America? I'll let you decide for yourself. But I'm intrigued by a new book I'm reading: Twelve Lies That Hold America Captive: And the Truth That Sets Us Free (Jonathan P. Walton, Intervarsity Press 2019). Not wanting to spoil your read of the book, I'll resist critiquing Walton's list of lies (though I have held similar convictions regarding several of the twelve for a long time). You may check out a listing of all twelve lies at www.ivpress.com. Read more
The Last LetterEver get a letter you were afraid to open and read? How about a letter you could hardly wait to tear open to read? What made the difference? What you knew about the sender, of course. Perhaps thats why “The Last Letter” has been left unopened and unread for so long. But what if we’ve been wrong? Then why keep waiting? Something In CommonThe message to God's church, Laodicea, as Pastor Dwight pointed out last week, is full of some very tense moments. Lead a GROW Group Around Your PassionIs there something in your life that you're really passionate about? Think about it. Really. It could be the subject of parenting, or cooking, or digging deeper into a book of the Bible. If you have something you're passionate about, we want to offer you an opportunity to lead a GROW group based on that area of interest. And we'll even help you promote that group around the campus and community. So what are you waiting for? Go to www.pmchurch.org/grow to learn more. By the way, here are a few important dates you need to keep in mind: 1. Leader registration closes today
Backpacks for Berrien CollectionEach month one of the various denominational churches in Berrien Springs collects food to be distributed on Fridays by Backpacks for Berrien to Berrien Springs public school students who otherwise may not have much to eat over the weekend. January and February are PMC’s months. The food must be packaged in individual serving sizes. No cans or bottles. By the types of food we select to donate, we can even make a health statement. Here are the healthful items on the Backpacks’ food list: fruit cups, pasta, rice, beans, nuts, protein bars. Food can be brought to the church and placed in the collection box in the lobby. |
