Exams message
We wish you the best of luck during this exams period! To help you manage during this time, we thought we'd give you some tips.
|
-
If you need a caffeine hit and want to consume coffee more sustainably, get yourself a re-usable cup to save 10p off your drink. Every year 2.5 billions unrecyclable coffee cups are thrown to landfill.
-
You will spend a large amount of your day looking at a screen during exam period. This may cause eye strain and fatigue. Consider the 20-20-20 rule to tackle the strain.
-
As part of Stress Less Week, Living Streets, the Students' Union and us, are organising walks for students. It'll be an opportunity for you to reduce stress linked to end of year exams. These will be held at both City and Headingley. (See below in What's on?)

Green Impact - Student Environmental Auditors
On the 18th April, students who volunteered their time as Student Environmental Auditors were rewarded with their certificates of participation. They spent a whole day last December, being trained in the morning and going individually auditing teams in the afternoon.

National Walking month
It's National Walking month this May. We are spreading the word about walking and its benefits to you. Today, less than half of children walk to school compared to 70% a decade ago. A third of adults walk less than 10 minutes a week!
|
Join us on the 3rd of May for 30-minutes walks in City Campus and Headingley Campus (see in What's on?)

Easter Holiday Energy savings
During the Easter period, members of staff across our university took part in an energy saving campaign where they were encouraged to switch off their non-essential electrical items. As during the Christmas break, we have made some significant savings. (See in graph below)
