The Blame Game

Elijah remains one of the great heroes of Scripture. And everybody remembers that moment, when after three and half debilitating years of drought and famine, he and the wicked king Ahab meet once again.

But don't forget the backstory of their meeting. Three and half years earlier, unannounced Elijah strode into the monarch’s throne room with a thundering pronouncement: "'As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word'" (1 Kings 17:1). Family, Faith, & Fun!

Let's keep getting outside to get some fresh air and enjoy God’s second book! While you’re out, why not do a scavenger hunt! Look for the following items: Acorn, Bird, Cloud shaped like an object or animal, Clover, Feather, Flower, Green leaf, Insect, Moss, Mushroom, Nest, Pinecone, Something yellow, Spider web, Squirrel, Stick shaped like a Y, Thorn, Vine, Water, Worm.

While you're inside, have a family talent show! Take turns letting each person sing, play an instrument, show a picture they drew, dance, do gymnastics moves, read a story or poem they wrote, etc. Perhaps even tell each person what you liked about their performance. If you are alone, take some time to learn more about a talent you’d like to develop. YouTube is full of tutorials!

GC 100 Days of Prayer Commence

This week I learned of our world church headquarters appeal for prayer throughout the global Seventh-day Adventist family. Originally timed to end during the recently-postponed General Conference session in Indianapolis, our church leaders are calling us to now focus 100 days of praying (March 27-July 4) on behalf of the global coronavirus pandemic. There could hardly be a more urgent need for earnest praying!

First Tuesday Comes This Tuesday

Since October 2018, our Pioneer congregation and the Andrews campus have joined together in setting aside the first Tuesday of every month as a Day of Fasting and Prayer. Since most of us this coming Tuesday will be safely ensconced in our homes, it will be a fitting opportunity to band together to seek God's face on behalf of our nation, our world, our church.
