Croatia has quite a lot of former soldiers with PTSD. They need a special approach from the Croatian Probation Service. The war in former Yugoslavia ended almost twenty years ago. "But the wounds are still there", says Jana Špero, head of the Croatian Probation Service. "We have come to the conclusion that people with PTSD need a different approach than our other clients."

Criminal Justice Platform Europe: activities 2015
From 3 – 4 December the Criminal Justice Platform Europe (CJPE) met in Barcelona. This platform is a liaison of European professional network organisations for the sector of prison (EuroPris), restorative justice (European Forum for Restorative Justice) and probation (CEP). At the meeting the planning was made for our joint activities in 2015.

Launch of the Community Return Programme Evaluation Report
Minister for Justice and Equality, Ms Frances Fitzgerald TD and Northern Ireland Minister of Justice, Mr David Ford MLA opened the fifth annual Cross-Border Public Protection Seminar held in Dublin on Friday 21st November 2014. The Seminar themed "Working with and in Communities" showcased the wide ranging co-operation between criminal justice partners, North and South.

Assistance for Turkey in implementation EM
Dutch, UK and Portugal Probation Services will assist their Turkish colleague’s in the implementation of electronic monitoring (EM). The three European organisations were selected to jointly guide together with the Turkish Ministry of Justice, a large scale implementation of electronic monitoring. “We are proud that we were selected to share our knowledge and expertise”, says Raymond Swennenhuis, coordinator foreign relations at the Dutch Probation Service.
