Hi there, On Friday 25th October we hosted the very successful Outdoors Queensland Awards Dinner where we announced the winners of the 2019 Outdoors Queensland Awards. Congratulations to all the Award winners The Brisbane City Council Award for Outstanding Achievement (Organisation) The K2 Basecamp Young Achiever Award For a full list of all finalists and winners go to Outdoors Queensland Awards The Outdoors Queensland Distinguished Achievers AwardThis award recognises and acknowledges the achievements of the winners of 3 or more Outdoors Queensland Awards (and formerly the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Awards) since their inception in 2002. In 2019 this award was presented to PCYC Bornhoffen and Redlands City Council John WoodConferred 2019 "Over my life I have become passionate about outdoor recreation and the management of indigenous protected areas" John Wood has spent 50 years serving the parks and leisure industry in a variety of roles earning respect for his expertise in natural area management, recreation, tourism, open space planning, world heritage areas, national parks and wilderness areas. While not all finalists took home an award, all are to be congratulated for simply being a finalist - this itself says much about what they do and their standing in the outdoor community.
