This September, we officially welcomed Sue Tierney and Lee Pelton as members of the Barr Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Their arrival as trustees marks a significant milestone for the Foundation. At its third board meeting of 2017, Barr trustees approved grants totaling $12.3 million, in addition to $3.6 million in grants approved earlier in the quarter. This quarter, we welcomed five new faces at Barr. Kate Dobin joined Barr in August to lead the Education program's Boston K-12 strategy. SueEllen Kroll joined the Arts & Creativity team in late July. Our Director of Learning and Evaluation, Yvonne Belanger, will lead efforts to evaluate and learn from our
investments. The Communications team welcomed Cecilia Hylton as an associate. Maryam Hamedany joined our Cross-Program Initiatives team in October as a program assistant.
