Spring News 2013

Hello !

Yes, it is hard to believe but Spring is here - finally! There is too much going on at STREAM to share all of it in this newsletter but I've selected a few snippets to inform and inspire below.

If you enjoy staying apprised of the work and ideas kicking around the STREAM studio please "Like" us on Facebook or stop by the studio over the next few weeks. You just might catch me building another stone wall and planting the STREAM vegetated roof (while destroying my back!).

Happy Spring!

Noah

Lake House Concept Complete

West Elevation

In our Winter newsletter we shared some inspiration for a new lake house project we're working on with Stick Victorian references. The tight site requires a compact footprint and three stories to maximize the living space. The third story features a covered "moon porch" - stay tuned for more details on Facebook as we move into design development. Facebook Like Button

Practicing What We Preach

STREAM Collaborative has established energy-efficiency as a central tenet of our firm’s design philosophy. STREAM has adopted the Architecture2030 Challenge and we are asking each of our collaborators and clients to join us in our efforts to reduce greenhouse gases to keep our planet cool.

Recommended Reading

A few of the books on our radar.

"Beauty is a silent but powerful force that makes communities safer, healthier and more livable."

"The use of native materials in the interest of simple, powerful design."

"Walkability is both an end and a means, as well as a measure."

What the does S.T.R.E.A.M. mean anyway?

We hinted at multiple meanings in the first STREAM Newsletter. We can't seem to settle on just one. In this newsletter we present STREAM as acronym. What do you think? Send us your thoughts by commenting on our Facebook page.Facebook Like Button
