Click here Niagara’s Water Treatment Plants Earn A+ from ProvinceMay 10, 2024 Niagara Region’s six water treatment facilities have obtained a 100 per cent rating from the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (the Ministry) during their inspections for the period of 2022-2023. A 100 per cent rating demonstrates Niagara Region’s commitment to going above and beyond the multi-barrier, health-based drinking water quality standards mandated by the province. The Ministry performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections of water treatment facilities annually to ensure compliance with provincial regulations. Beyond water quality monitoring, these inspections look at various aspects of water operations, including reporting, record keeping, and certification and training. Delivering safe and reliable drinking water and efficient service delivery is at the forefront of daily operations for both Niagara Region and the local area municipalities.
