Te Marama Pūoru Waiata Māori - Māori Music Month
Did you know August is the inaugural Māori Music Month? This new celebration, which was launched at the end of July, will include a roadshow of events and workshops in New Zealand and Australia.

To celebrate we have collated a selection of Resound films of works with Māori themes and/or using taonga pūoro instruments.

The Screen Composers Guild of NZ in association with SOUNZ, are organising another workshop to support NZ screen composers. This time we offer an opportunity to attend a Composer Q&A with John Psathas on Tuesday 4 October. See our website for more information.

Screen Composers’ Workshop

Resound project delivers high quality films of NZ music in concert. This year alone, Chris Watson, Resound Project Manager, has attended and filmed over 50 performances of NZ music.

We are now releasing a series of large-scale works from 2015 and 2016. The series started this week with Ross Harris’s Brass Poppies. You can also watch an interview with Ross introducing the work.

A new work will be released through our Facebook page on Mondays over the next few weeks.
