PNA HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS

Check out our NW Seattle Community Survey results

Graphic of multicolored silhouettes of people.

We recently set out to learn what would make Northwest Seattle feel more connected, inclusive, and healthy. We created the NW Seattle Community Survey to see what's working, where people are struggling, and how we can make an impact. It included several engagement methods: an online survey, a community advisory group, conversations with service providers and our staff, a community meeting, and an analysis of local data. We received an outstanding 2,047 responses, reflecting a diversity of demographics, perspectives, and life experiences. Thank you to all who participated!

Mission Moment

Mike Veitenhans smiles and hides behind an entry form for the Gumshoe 5k Detective Walk.

This year's Gumshoe 5k Detective Walk was the finale for a beloved tradition that got folks of all ages out exploring PhinneyWood and solving clues together for 15+ years. Phinney Ridge neighbor, Mike Veitenhans, also known as The Answer Man, single-handedly developed the routes and the clues. Mike has moved on to a new community project, KinderReminder. Since the Gumshoe started in 2006, it has raised over $30,000 for our Greenwood Senior Center, as well as funds for the Greenwood Elementary PTA and the Phinney Ridge Food Bank. Thank you Mike for keeping us sleuthing all these years!
