COVID-19 Easter Again: Unjammed!  PASTOR'S BLOG For a band of no-name merchant marines, they certainly found the quickest way to global notoriety! They’ll be telling the story to their grandkids forever. After all the Suez Canal is a mere 200 to 225 feet wide. And
the cargo ship they were sailing stretches 1,312 feet long (a quarter of a mile). Do the arithmetic. If that 200,000-ton “multi-decker” giant of the sea, loaded with 20,000 huge shipping containers (with $9 billion of estimated cargo), would manage to get crosswise in that very narrow canal, it’s “good-bye” to any other ship trying to get by. And that is exactly what happened. In Memory With Hope On Sabbath, April 3, we will resume our annual Easter Sabbath Procession of Hope which was cancelled in 2020 due to the onset of the pandemic. If you would like to honor the memory of someone who has passed away, you are invited to bring a spring flower to place at the foot of the cross during the processional at either service.

"Marriage" Begins this Easter Sabbath Thank you for sharing with family and/or friends an invitation to our new spring series beginning this Sabbath. As I wrote in my blog last week, it is a subject that is heightening in its relevance, given this pandemic world we now inhabit. I particularly wish your young friends and family members would learn about this series, given the new ambivalence the topic of marriage enjoys in our culture. It really is a big deal with God, I hope we will agree.
Here's the lineup for the month ahead: - April 3— "Marriage: Fresh Hope for the 'M' Word—He Lives!"
 - April 10—"Marriage: No Money Down with Zero Percent Interest"
 - April 17—"Marriage: Mental Health and the Gift that Goes on Giving"—David and Beverly Sedlacek, marriage and family counselors
 - April 24—"Marriage: The Pope and Same Sex Marriage"
 - May 1— "Marriage: 'A Promise of Future Love'"

Foster Family Gift Basket Project This spring, our Grow Groups ministry is leading a project to put together a gift basket for the active foster families in Berrien County. These families are meeting a special need in our community, and Pioneer wants to support them in their love on the move. So far, thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve raised more than 80% of our goal, but there’s still time to contribute if you haven’t done so already! Each basket will have an outdoor exploration theme, and will include a Bible storybook, snack items, outdoor activities, a certificate redeemable for a family membership at Sarett Nature Center or another local nature area, information about Pioneer’s Grow Groups and Children and Family Discipleship programs, our Mommy and Me events, and more! Do you want to be "Love on the Move" for our county foster families?

SDA Military and Government Seventh-day Adventists teach church members civic responsibility and to be "good neighbors" in their communities and countries. We seek the understanding and goodwill of proper governmental authorities in our endeavor to be good citizens of the "kingdom of heaven" as well as the kingdoms of this world. Pray for our military people and their families. –James North, Pioneer Serviceperson's Coordinator

40 Days of Prayer Invitation Our student leaders on campus are calling for a 40 Days of Prayer initiative and are inviting us to join them (March 31-May 9, 2021). Here’s a letter from Stephen Farr, chaplain of the AUGSA, detailing ways we can be involved. I’m glad the students initiated this prayer focus, and I hope as many of us as possible can join them in this collective prayer. What an appropriate way to end this school year, given the times we are in. Forward on our knees
with Jesus. –Dwight K. Nelson Read More
