... overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.
2 Corinthians 9:12 (ESV)
Photos and testimonials from those who served as short-term missionaries this summer keep rolling in! An report on Hurricane Dorian is included, below, too.
by Menominee Missions Team Members
"The Lord blessed our trip with safety, good fellowship, and many children who attended the VBS events. Please be in prayer for the Menominee people who, like us all, need Jesus as their Savior..." - Andy Mittlestaedt, Bethel OPC, Wheaton, IL
by Christopher Robison, New Covenant OPC, Joliet, IL
"The team was often left physically and mentally tuckered out at the end of each day, but performing these labors to advance Christ’s kingdom made them richly worth the effort…"

Each Week Was a New Adventure
by Kelsey Veldheer, Branch of Hope, Torrance, CA
"The team and I are so blessed to have made so many new friends, and we are all so thankful that God gave us opportunities to discuss our love for Christ. Before the trip, I was preparing myself to go over there and be an encouragement to them, but what I wasn't expecting was to come home full of encouragement I received from them..."

Uplifting, Educational, Humbling
by Jonathan Walker, Covenant Reformed OPC, Mt. Airy, NC
"Can you imagine walking miles with malaria? Also, having no food for the journey and wearing worn down flip-flops? It is amazing how strong the people are, that they are able to travel great distances just to receive medical care. It is a sobering feeling to know someone traveled so far to seek your help..."
Nurse practitioner Jonathan served at the OPC's medical clinic in Uganda
by Linda Taylor, New Life OPC, Williamsport, PA
"Are you like me, reluctant to reach out? Feel you are too old? Is there some other reason that restrains you? I urge you to think creatively and see how you can serve using your God-given talents. Are you an artist? Do you cook? Are you musical? Do you sew? All short-term mission programs, not just English for Kids, need 'behind the scenes' helpers..."
Linda prepared meals and snacks for 15-60 people for a week, including creating a whale snack for the Jonah-themed camp
At the Heart of Mission Work
by Ben Allison, Staunton OPC, Stanton, VA
"Sometimes all it takes is a game of catch or tag on the playground to get a conversation going, and then you've started a relationship which just may be the tool God uses in giving the Gospel message! These kinds of interactions are at the heart of mission work, and make the whole trip worth it..."
Ben was an Outdoor Recreation assistant
No Matter What Language You Speak
by Andrea Demby, Church of the Covenant OPC, Hackettstown, NJ
"The takeaway and blessing of it all is that no matter what language you speak, God is God and we are all in need of the Savior..."

The Presbytery of the Southeast sent a Disaster Response Team, under the direction of Regional Disaster Response Coordinator Mike Cloy, to New Bern, NC, Wilmington, NC, and Charleston, SC, to carry out the OPC's response to Dorian. The work consisted mainly of removing huge downed trees from houses, clearing out limbs and other debris, and repairing some of the damage the fallen trees had caused.
