COVID-19 Vaccines: Australian Government Department of Health Disability Provider Alert (11 March 2021)

The Australian Government Department of Health (Department of Health) has today issued a Disability Provider Alert with updated information for disability providers.

Key points

  • The Department of Health has issued a new Disability Provider Alert.
  • This alert, and other resources about the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, is available on the Department of Health’s web page for disability service providers.
  • The recording of the Phase 1a disability sector webinar that was held on 4 March is now available.

Department of Health provider alert (11 March)

The Department of Health has issued a new Disability Provider Alert.

As well as details about the new disability provider COVID-19 vaccine readiness toolkit, the alert includes information about:

  • Healthdirect (on behalf of the Department of Health) soon contacting residential disability providers to verify data about your residences
  • disability workers identified as a priority group for Phase 1b of the COVID-19 Vaccination Program
  • the availability of the recording of the Phase 1a disability sector webinar that was held on 4 March.

This provider alert along with other resources and information about the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is available from a dedicated web page for disability service providers on the Department of Health website. This page will be updated regularly.

The Department of Health will also continue to regularly update Information for people with disability about COVID-19 vaccines as more details become available.
