Thamesbank supports Debt Awareness Week 2024

Celebrating 10 years of Debt Awareness Week, StepChange highlighted the importance of seeking help for financial difficulties, especially as rising costs create challenges for many. The campaign ran between 18 to 24 March 2024 and Thamesbank was proud to be part of it.

The campaign focused on overcoming common barriers that prevent people from getting debt advice sooner. These barriers include:

  • Not understanding how debt advice could help them
  • Being worried that their friends or family will find out
  • Fears that their credit score will be affected, or they won’t be able to borrow more money
  • Mental health issues making it more difficult to get help
  • Not having enough time to seek advice and tackle their debt

StepChange shared daily information and support throughout the week to address these specific barriers on their social media channels.

Words of wisdom

"Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving." - Warren Buffett

In this quote, Warren Buffett advises prioritising saving over spending. Rather than saving what's left after spending, you should save first and spend what remains. This approach cultivates financial discipline, living within your means, and building wealth over time.
