Keep mozzies away

Following an unseasonably warm winter, the mosquito breeding season has begun early this year.

Council conducts regular monitoring across the city, with ground and aerial treatments undertaken in recent weeks, particularly on the southern bay islands. Rest assured, these mosquito treatments are safe for you and the environment.

Koalas on the move

September is Save the Koala Month, an initiative of the Australian Koala Foundation that coincides with the koala breeding season.

Koalas are on the move at the moment so slow down on the roads and watch out for wildlife. Remember to confine or restrain dogs at night and ensure your fences are koala friendly so they don’t get trapped in your backyard.
