Thanks to your support and your votes, Team Garcia heads to the runoff with the lead! On Election Day, we received more votes than any other candidate on the ballot with over 45% of the votes overall. We won the majority of absentee votes with 51.72% and won early vote overwhelmingly with 47.62% of the vote. Even when you break down the results by House District, we won the majority of the House Districts in Senate District 6. The momentum is definitely on our side, and we have to work hard to keep it going. We hope we can count on your support again over the next six weeks as we race forward to the runoff election.

If you're ready to send Sylvia Garcia to the Texas Senate, come volunteer your time and help us on our path to victory! The governor will set the date for the runoff election soon, but we can tell you now that it will be in approximately six weeks. This gives us a very short time to double our efforts and come out on top in the next election. Here's how you can join Team Garcia and help us on our path to victory –

• Help distribute yard signs – many of our supporters in Senate District 6 have requested Sylvia Garcia signs for their yard. Help us put them out!
• Join a phone bank – daily phone banks at our campaign headquarters reach out to thousands of voters across the district.
• Canvass your neighborhood – we are always looking for volunteers to walk their precincts and talk to their neighbors at their doors. Direct voter contact is the key to winning this runoff election!

Well, we did it! We got more votes than anyone else on the ballot and now we're heading to the runoff! With a field of eight candidates, I can't imagine a better outcome for Election Day!

I can't express how grateful I am to each of you for making our campaign such a success. I hope you'll stick it out with us – Team Garcia will be working hard from now until the runoff election to make sure that we keep our lead and finish this out on top.

We will be sure to let you know as soon as Governor Perry sets a date for the runoff election. In the meantime, I hope you'll continue telling your friends and your family about our campaign to make Senate District 6 a leading voice in the Texas Senate. We need to make sure that all of our supporters get out to the polls once again, and bring even more of their neighbors with them. Let's stand together one more time at the ballot box so we can take our fight to Austin and stand up for what matters to our families: quality public education, affordable health care, and good-paying jobs with fair wages.
