St John's School Euroa Newsletter Term 3 Week 6 St John's is a Child Safe School where all children are respected and are protected from harm. Principal's Message Dear Parents, Week 3 of Remote Learning, hopefully we are half way through. It is wonderful to see that nearly 100% of students are attending the morning Google Meets. Please don’t forget that we are always here to support you and if you need help please email your child’s classroom teacher. Happy birthday to Andrea who celebrates her birthday today! Thank You - Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have been emailing and texting their support and appreciation to school over the last week. We are grateful for your ongoing support and it means a lot to the staff to know that their hard work is appreciated. Yesterday we received a stunning bouquet of flowers from an anonymous sender, thank you to whoever sent them to us. As a school we would like to thank parents, grandparents, neighbours and baby sitters who are supporting remote learning at home. We appreciate your support. Sr Bernadine - I am saddened to inform you that yesterday Sr Bernadine’s nephew was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Melbourne. Sadly Sr Bernadine can’t be with her family. Please keep Sr Bernadine in your thoughts and prayers. Temperature Testing - We are now required to temperature test students when they arrive at school. Students temperature is taken using a non-touch sensor thermometer on the student’s forehead. Students who have a temperature above 37.6 degrees will need to be collected from school. School Uniform - Just a reminder that students need to be wearing a school top or jumper during Google Meets. ICON - Congratulations to Andrea who blitzed her ICON training over the past two weeks. Well done Andrea! ICON is our new administration program and yesterday the system went live. The school’s administration is fully functional again, thank you to everyone for their patience whilst the system was shut down during the three week period. Code of Conduct - In our ongoing endeavours to nurture positive school and family relationships we have a School Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct outlines the school’s key expectations with regard to respectful relationships and St John’s School’s position relating to unacceptable behaviours that breach our culture of respect. This Code of Conduct also covers social media. Please, if you have an issue, see the staff member or myself to discuss your concerns. Have a great week everyone and let’s continue to work together to get through this trying time as best we can. Libby St John's acknowledges the Taungurung People as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, play and live. Calendar of Events
Religious Education Week 6 Prayer Jesus said, ‘Who do you say I am?’. Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God’… And so, I tell you Peter: you are a rock, and on this foundation, I will build my Church.’ The question Jesus asks in today’s gospel must also be paramount in our lives – ‘Who do you say I am?’. What answer do I give with my words and what answer do I give with the way I live? Jesus revealed himself in the gospel through love, justice, forgiveness, mercy and compassion. In the end, my answer to Jesus’ question, ‘Who do you say I am?’, is reflected more it the life I live than in the words I utter. This is the time to listen carefully. We will hear God in our readings, in the reflection, and in the silence. This is the time when the truth is revealed. We will view the past in a new light. This is the time to make a fresh start. We will find courage for the journey and will not look back. This is the time to work out God’s purpose. With the Spirit’s strength, there is nothing to stop us We will work out God’s purpose. Amen.
