Christian Community Care Sunday & Anti-Poverty Week

Christian Community Care Sunday is this weekend - Sunday, 27 September - but we are inviting our supporters to celebrate Christian Community Care Sunday in conjunction with Anti-Poverty Week from 11-17 October.

We need your help to host an event to raise funds for the work we do across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Gather a group of friends or colleagues and hold a gold-coin donation morning tea or lunch to help spread awareness that poverty in Australia is a real issue. You can hold your event at a time most convenient for you!

If you choose to celebrate Christian Community Care Sunday during your Sunday service, we have developed some prayers that you may like to use. 

Christmas Gifts for those in need

Last year with your help we were able to provide 800 families with food at Christmas time in Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. We are again asking for your support to collect donations of food and toys. If you are able, we would appreciate donations be delivered to the drop-off sites listed below by Friday, 11 December.

What items are best?
Food placed in hampers range from vegetables to biscuits, but all items need to be long-life quality and not expired or close to the expiry date.

In the Barossa we are asking for toys for children under 18 and in Adelaide we are asking for toys for children under 12. Toys should be new, have some educational value and be age appropriate. Examples could include Lego, Duplo, board games, sports equipment, dolls, puzzles, dress up clothes - be creative! 

Volunteer with us
We are always in need of volunteers at this time of year. If you are available in December and would like to help pack and distribute hampers please call us at 08 8269 9300 (Blair Athol) or 08 8562 2688 (Barossa).
