The holidays come with much tradition, whether family tradition, personal tradition, or communal tradition. There is something special and comfortable in the familiar events and activities that we engage in year after year. But, of course, this year has put a monkey wrench in just about every aspect of our lives, so why should our holiday traditions be any different? Tomorrow is Thanksgiving – a day often filled with much family, much fellowship, and much food. The CDC is strongly recommending we don’t gather like we usually do, and if we still decide to gather, they recommend bringing our own food, plates, and utensils. That doesn’t feel very much like Thanksgiving to me.

Here we are, at another Christmas season. However, this 2020 Christmas is not like any other Christmas before. Did you notice that the lights and decorations are going up earlier this year? It seems that many people are tired of the gloom and discouragement this pandemic has caused. 

To encourage each other through this challenging and physically-distanced holiday season, the Pioneer Women’s Ministry team is delighted to share with you a moment of light each day until Christmas. We will send to you a daily Advent message of hope, peace, joy, and love from the Bible and the writings of Ellen White that we hope will bring to you a gift of light from heaven. Let us focus together on Jesus, the Light of the world.
