Works around Bayfair this week

If you have been through the Bayfair area you will have seen a lot of road cones around.

We are doing night works this week and next to start establishing the site boundaries. This involves removing some kerbing and central islands, changing line marking and installing barriers which will narrow the lane widths, and next week we will be lowering the speed limit through the area to 50km/h.

Bayfair Shopping Centre is also carrying out infrastructure improvements, such as upgrading the storm-water facilities. This work is not part of the Bay Link project, however the project team is working closely with the Bayfair Management Team. On the local roads, Harris Street access at the Bayfair end will be closed for the duration of these works.

Introducing Bay Link

From here on, we will be referring to the project as Baypark to Bayfair Link or Bay Link as the shortened version, rather than B2B. We thought that it described the project area better and explains what we're trying to do - connecting the Bay of Plenty state highways. 

We're really excited that we're now in the construction phase of this project and look forward to bringing you more news as work progresses.
