Invincible International November 2020 Update Welcome to the November Invincible International Update. Following on from a successful Fort Lauderdale Boat Show it is disappointing to learn that Miami Boat Show, scheduled for February 2021, has been cancelled. Nevertheless, I understand the concerns of the organizers and their commitment to the health and safety of visitors and exhibitors alike. With our current backlog of orders the lack of boat shows is not of real concern. However, we always love the opportunity to meet with our customers face to face and for them to see in the flesh the latest models and refinements. We are still waiting to hear the fate of other international boat shows scheduled for 2021 but meanwhile we are preparing for further cancellations or rescheduling. Fortunately we have a growing number of current model boats arriving with dealers and owners in various regions of the world. This offers opportunities for many potential Invincible owners to physically see a boat closer to home than would have been the case just a few months ago. So if you are in Australia, the Middle East or the Caribbean and would like to see first hand the latest Invincible, then contact me and I will be happy to set up a meeting with either the local dealer or a private owner, depending on your location. One upshot of the current world situation is how many people are getting more time on the water and utilizing their boats more than ever. We build boats to be used, so this really is fantastic to see and shows the spirit of freedom and adventure continues to grow. Time on the water with family and friends really is the best form of physical and mental recreation at any time, even more so when we may be restricted in other activities. Someone once said salt water is the cure for anything. That may not be directly true, but it certainly helps a whole lot. VP International Business More on FLIBS Our domestic team did a great job at FLIBS despite the uncertainty running up to the event. No one knew what the turnout would be like and how the safety measures would work. The consensus in the industry seems to be that although there were fewer people, those that did attend were more likely to be serious buyers. Whilst not perfect, the COVID-19 safety measures worked pretty well. The New 46’ Catamaran Our biggest boat to date was a BIG hit at the show. FLIBS was the first public outing for the new 46’ Catamaran. Those who were lucky enough to step onboard were blown away. With the quality finish that’s part of Invincible’s heritage and the same smooth, dry ride, this 46’ certainly makes an impression. Speaking for the Industry Our work with the international media is definitely having an impact. Over the past few of weeks, we’ve been approached to comment on a couple of industry news stories. We provided quotes from our CEO, John Dorton, on the topics of the day. Both quotes were used in international news stories in IBI and are likely to pop up in other news outlets too. “We’re disappointed to see MIBS cancel but we respect the decision. With our growing backlog, the show cancellation will not impact our growth for 2021. Still it’s a surprise. We are presently at FLIBS and it’s a very productive show.” “I would say we wrote about 75% of the business that we wrote there in 2019, which was our best year ever in Lauderdale. So, lower crowds, high quality buyer,” explained Invincible president John Dorton, expressing the universal sentiment of FLIBS exhibitors. It’s good news that journalists in the marine industry are seeking out our comments. What the team at Invincible has to say is valued by our peers and is being read in the editorial columns by our Invincible owners and future customers. Caribbean Photo Shoot We can’t wait for our photo shoot to get the green light in Antigua. We know it’s going to be stunning. These shots were taken by Outdoor World in Antigua following the arrival of their first Invincible 35’ Catamaran.
