The funding will aim to bring in more international visitors for the 2017/18 peak season. The business support package for Kaikōura ad Hurunui has also been extended until April 30. “Tourism has the potential to be a key driver of growth and jobs in Tairāwhiti which is why the Government is keen to work with the region to co-invest in Tairāwhiti tourism opportunities,” says Economic Development Mr Bridges. The Government is willing to contribute up to $2 million alongside local Government. Tourism Growth Partnership round five successful applicants Tourism Minister Paula Bennett this week announced $2.49 million in Tourism Growth Partnership funding for new tourist attractions in Rotorua and Southland. “These initiatives will provide real benefit to their regions, creating new tourism offerings and more local jobs. A total of $23.54 million has been invested in 33 projects since the inception of the Tourism Growth Partnership in 2013.
