December 2019

Dear Supporter,

Thank you for being a friend of Seafarers UK throughout the year. With your support, we were able to award £2.2 million in grants to fund 43 organisations and projects supporting more than 209,000 seafarers in need, across the Merchant Navy, Fishing Fleets and Royal Navy, as well as their families.

We wish you a very happy holiday season and a peaceful and prosperous 2020!

Best wishes,
Seafarers UK

In 2019 your support helped...

...43 partner organisations and more than 209,000 seafarers in need and their families.

Thank you to all our donors, volunteers and fundraisers for helping us to provide essential funding for those in need. Please consider giving a lasting gift this Christmas to help us support more seafarers and their families.

Seafarers UK publishes its manifesto for seafarers

The charity wants to ensure that although some seafarers are far out at sea, they and their families are supported, particularly in times of need. In partnership with others, Seafarers UK will use its grant funding, encourage collaboration and advocate on behalf of seafarers. See the manifesto.

Merchant Navy Day, 3 September 2020

Seafarers UK's ‘Fly the Red Ensign for Merchant Navy Day’ campaign raises public awareness of our ongoing dependence on Merchant Navy seafarers and encourages public flag flying on 3 September. In 2019, a Red Ensign was flown at more than 1,000 locations ashore across the UK. Read more about the campaign and how to get involved.

'Seafarers UK's manifesto sets out our aspirations for seafarers, the hidden heroes of maritime.'
