Update for Residents23rd March 2018Nine Mile Ride / Old Wokingham Road RoundaboutThe highway improvements phase of the roundabout works is approaching completion, with resurfacing underway. Tarmac cannot be laid in freezing temperatures so the works were delayed by one night, due to the cold weather at the beginning of the week. We expect the tarmac works to be completed overnight on Friday 23rd March bar any last minute difficulties. Cycleway - Old Wokingham Road to Crowthorne RoundaboutThe enabling works to lay service ducting along Old Wokingham Road is now completed and we are awaiting final approval to commence the cycleway. Subject to these agreements we hope to commence these works soon and for them to continue until the summer. Development Access C - north of Hatch RideWe have commenced Access C and expect these works to last until late May. Traffic lights will be required for part of the works and these will be removed outside of working hours. Housebuilding - Phase 1Our housebuilding works are progressing well with the better weather this week. We have lifted our first roof trusses into place on the show homes and we expect to commence the inside work, in April. With over 100 tradesmen on site daily, we have completed 60 foundations and bricklaying is well underway on the first phase of plots. On site infrastructureThe site infrastructure continues to focus on completing the final sections of drainage and spine road works. We expect shortly to provide a temporary access into Crowthorne House and commence the demolition of the existing access bridge which spanned the TRL test track. Once complete these works will allow the construction of the Nine Mile Ride spine road access. SANGWorks to the SANG have progressed very well despite the wintry weather and we expect to have the SANG substantially completed in June. The remaining works focus on planting and installation of various more formal features around the site. Safety & SecurityOur site is patrolled by security including support from a canine team. We would however like to take this opportunity to remind residents that whilst all reasonable precautions are taken, building sites can seem exciting to children but they can be dangerous places. As ever, we would, therefore, ask parents to ensure their children are made aware of the dangers and are instructed not to enter site at any time, unless doing so under the full supervision of our site staff and wearing full personal protection equipment. The next residents update email will be issued in two weeks. |
