Michaelmas 2021

On Sunday, Corpus  welcomed 164 new undergraduates and postgraduates to the College with a range of social and sporting activities on offer for Freshers' week. Have a look at the photo gallery.

The Master welcomes you to the new academic year

"Every new academic year brings with it an exhilarating burst of anticipation, as we welcome new enquiring minds (undergraduate and postgraduate) through Corpus’ gates. This year more than most our sense of watchful oversight is high – for the students, our Fellowship and the College community as a whole. How do we maximise the student experience while keeping everyone sensibly safe, for whatever version of the pandemic or its variants comes next?

To this there is no definitive answer, other than to know that we have found our way successfully through the complexities of the last eighteen months. This at least gives us some confidence that we can, and we will, manage whatever is ahead. Above all, we look forward to teaching in person, and for College life to return in full. On this note, we are so pleased to be able to run our alumni programme again and look forward to seeing you at one of our events". Continue reading.

A bright start to the second Corpus Bridging Course

At the beginning of September, Corpus welcomed its second cohort for the only fully residential onboarding scheme for students from under-represented backgrounds offered by any Cambridge College. Eight students studying in the arts and humanities and eight in the sciences arrived at College a month before they began their degrees to join a unique, intensive programme which aims to smooth their transition between school and university. Corpus to host A-level students in STEM SMART pilot programme

We are proud to be among the first Colleges to welcome A-level students on the new STEM SMART pilot programme as part of our commitment to widening access and participation. The programme, designed to bridge attainment gaps and mitigate educational disruption caused by the COVID pandemic, will support students’ classroom studies in maths and science throughout their final year-and-a-half at school - from the second term of Year 12 to their Year 13 A-level examinations.

MacCurdy Reunion: Thanks for coming!

Corpus was thrilled to welcome over 100 alumni to the MacCurdy dinner on Saturday 25th September. The evening began with an exhibition in the Parker Library entitled 'Six Edible Centuries at Corpus Christi College' followed by a discussion with Fellows in the McCrum Lecture Theatre.  Alumni from 1987, 1988, 1989, 1999 and 2000 enjoyed a delicious dinner in Hall and continued their conversations into the OCR and Green MacCurdy rooms. It was an enormous pleasure to see everyone and we hope you can join us again soon. We can assure you of another warm welcome.

Dr Russell Foster (m2003, History) has been President of the Corpus Alumni Association since 2019.

Would you like to join the Corpus  Alumni Association Committee?

The Committee serves the College and its alumni community in maintaining links during and beyond the degree programme and student years. They are particularly interested in applications from Corpus alumni who graduated in the last twenty years, from female applicants, BAME applicants, and Corpus alumni who, like the President of the Committee, were the first in their families to go to university.
