Monday, October 29, 7.30pm Sarah Grunstein returns to the glorious Utzon Room on the 29th of October to perform J.S. Bach Goldberg Variations. Praised by The New York Times for her ”penetrating musical intelligence”, internationally acclaimed pianist Sarah Grunstein has been acknowledged as the "shining light" among the Bach pianists of the generation following Glenn Gould. Introspective and poetic, Sarah Grunstein’s performance was profoundly sensitive The 2018 Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival programme features outstanding overseas jazz artists and an exceptional list of local groups. The headline artist is the exciting vocalist Charenee Wade who will be making her debut Australian appearance to perform her celebrated tribute to the late singer/poet Gil Scott Heron. In addition to Charenee, the festival features the inaugural Australian performance of much lauded Finnish, Sanna Ruohoniemi. But that’s not all! In 2019 the Sydney Youth Orchestras will be again running their Summer School program for musicians aged 6 - 18, and HSC Prep Program for students taking, or intending to take, HSC Music 2. There is no audition for SYO Summer School but advanced students will have the opportunity to audition to join the senior Summer School orchestra, conducted by the incredible Max McBride.
