Credit Unions in Parliament article

The Association of British Credit Unions Limited (ABCUL) is pleased to announce that the new Credit Union Legislation has been granted Royal Assent. This legislation brings significant changes to the Credit Union Act, allowing credit unions to offer hire purchases, conditional sale agreements, and insurance distribution. Credit unions will need to amend their rules and apply for a Consumer Credit License to offer these new services. This development demonstrates the need for conservative financial institutions to adapt to modern demands. ABCUL aims to keep its members informed about important legal changes.
