Welfare & WellbeingFrom the College NurseComplete Your GP Registration with Newnham Walk Medical PracticeNewnham Walk Surgery has reported that there are Wolfson students who have yet to complete their GP registration. To complete your registration, you will need to submit all necessary completed forms. Please also send the following to nws.messaging@nhs.net:

This has been clarified with both the Wolfson Accommodation Manager and the Newnham Walk Surgery Office Manager. Alternatively, you can request a letter from the Wolfson Tutorial Office ![]() New applications to register with GP SurgeryIf you have yet to do so, you can register online. As a student residing in Cambridge, you can choose to register with any local GP. If you would rather register with a GP elsewhere in Cambridge, you can use the NHS website to search for an alternative GP practice close to where you live, respecting their catchment area limitations. Each GP practice website has details of how to register. ![]() All members of our community should stay up to date with the latest guidance from the government and the ‘Stay Safe Cambridge Uni’ campaignA Message from the International Student OfficeEU Settlement SchemeThe UK left the European Union at the end of January 2020 and entered a transition period until 31 December 2020. During the transition period free movement will continue. EEA and Swiss citizens, and their family members, who are resident in the UK prior to 31 December 2020 are eligible to apply for the EU Settlement Scheme to protect their UK residency status. If you are moving to the UK to start full-time studies at Cambridge after 31 December 2020, you are likely to need a student visa in order to study at the University. Combine the two by dropping into the library between 26 November and 03 December to make a penguin corner bookmark and a particularly pretty paper snowflake, or to pick up some winter-themed colouring sheets. Green Society Notices![]() Cafeteria SurveyIn collaboration with the College cafeteria, the Green Society is running a survey on vegetarian food in the cafeteria. The College is required to certify that students have kept the necessary number of terms for their course of study. The email will include a link to an online form which must be completed by 02 December. Facilities & Maintenance Notices![]() Decoration WorksDecoration to Bredon House Decoration works to Bredon House are ongoing with work set to start on the ground floor and the staircase by the College Office from Monday 30 November. Works are scheduled to take place until 23 December. Dust sheets will be on the floors so please take care when accessing the staircase and communal areas. ![]() Baggage StoreThe baggage store will be open on the following additional date, at the given times: Saturday 05 December between the hours of The baggage store will be open at its usual times during term: Monday-Friday 11.30am - 12.00 midday and can be located in the basement of W block (by the bell). Please remember to socially distance and wear a face mask when entering and whilst in the baggage store. ![]() Heating TimesHeating times are as follows: ![]() Legionella Water WorksWeekly Works: The maintenance department undertakes essential works, one of which is to flush the water systems in all unused rooms weekly on Mondays. We are following all current Government guidelines on face masks and social distancing. For those in residence this is a polite notice to let you know why we are accessing rooms. Thank you for your co-operation. Monthly Works: Wolfson College has employed Jordan Environmental to undertake Legionella water testing and sampling to all buildings. Access to rooms (not those where students are quarantined or self-isolating ) will be needed and you will be emailed when this testing takes place. Jordan Environmental will follow the College risk assessment and the current Government guidelines on social distancing whilst this work takes place.
