Complete Your GP Registration with Newnham Walk Medical Practice

Newnham Walk Surgery has reported that there are Wolfson students who have yet to complete their GP registration.

To complete your registration, you will need to submit all necessary completed forms. Please also send the following to nws.messaging@nhs.net:

  • copy of photo ID, e.g. passport or driving licence
  • copy of proof of address, e.g. proof of College residency* or utility bill or bank statement

*Proof of College residency can simply be a copy of the email sent from Jo Fisher, Wolfson Accommodation Manager, on receipt of your signed licence agreement. This has been clarified with both the Wolfson Accommodation Manager and the Newnham Walk Surgery Office Manager.  Alternatively, you can request a letter from the Wolfson Tutorial Office

New applications to register with GP Surgery

If you have yet to do so, you can register online.  As a student residing in Cambridge, you can choose to register with any local GP. If you would rather register with a GP elsewhere in Cambridge, you can use the NHS website to search for an alternative GP practice close to where you live, respecting their catchment area limitations. Each GP practice website has details of how to register.

A Message from the International Student Office

EU Settlement Scheme

The UK left the European Union at the end of January 2020 and entered a transition period until 31 December 2020. During the transition period free movement will continue.

EEA and Swiss citizens, and their family members, who are resident in the UK prior to 31 December 2020 are eligible to apply for the EU Settlement Scheme to protect their UK residency status.

If you are moving to the UK to start full-time studies at Cambridge after 31 December 2020, you are likely to need a student visa in order to study at the University.

Further information and guidance.

Winter Craft Table in the Library

Taking a break from work is important. And craft is a great way to relax. Combine the two by dropping into the library between 26 November and 03 December to make a penguin corner bookmark and a particularly pretty paper snowflake, or to pick up some winter-themed colouring sheets. If you are self-isolating in College, please let us know by email if you would like a pack of materials and we can arrange to get them to you.
