Latest Funding NewsLast shout out! Closing 12 April Barnet Spacehive spring 2023 matched funding Crowdfunding opportunity If you’ve got a project that transforms a space in Barnet or brings Barnet Communities together, the crowdfunding platform Spacehive might be a great option for you. Depending on the project, Barnet Council may pledge up to 50% to your campaign (up to the maximum of £5,000) . The deadline for this round is Wednesday 12 April, visit the Crowdfund Barnet programme for more information. Spacehive has a team of experts on hand to help you run a great campaign from project support through to verification and fundraising! Barnet Council's Community Events Funding Barnet Council’s vision is to make Barnet a ‘Borough of Fun’, where those who live and work have opportunities to enjoy life and celebrate the things that are important to them. Community Groups can apply for up to £1,000 throughout the year to host an event with their community. To find out more join their Community Event Funding Workshop Tickets, Tue 28 Mar, 11am. Apply at least 4 weeks before the proposed event Heart Research UK Community groups that are helping local people look after their hearts can apply for grants of up to £15,000 for projects working with adults to promote health hearts and the aim of reducing the risk of heart disease in the community. Free funding? Now that’s unexpected Did you know your organisation can receive funding every time your volunteers, employees, or staff shop online? Their everyday shopping can transform into a continual income stream for your organisation. You can raise up to £200 over a year, just from one person doing their weekly food shop, raise up to £40 each time someone switches their household bills, and raise up to £30 when they book a holiday. City Bridge Trust - The Anchor Programme City Bridge Trust are looking to provide long-term, core funding to second-tier organisations that provide support to frontline groups. To receive funding, organisations will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to equitable practice and to addressing the marginalisation and discrimination experienced by those with intersectional identities. The minimum you can apply for is £50,000 per year and the maximum
is £150,000 per year. Co-op Local Community Fund Co-op is welcoming registrations of interest for their Local Community Fund, which provides funding to local groups working within Barnet. Last year’s successful applicants including Hope Corner Community Centre, GROW and Citizens Advice Barnet. Winners get three payments throughout the year. Please share this free and invaluable service with yoru networks. Brent Cross pop-up charity shop a success The first multi-charity pop-up retail store in the UK raised over £370,000. Charity Super.Mkt’s first outlet at Brent Cross in London opened in January and sold more than 40,000 items for 10 charities. It raised £374,454 for UK charities in 41 days of trading, from more than 26,000 customers. Its projected turnover was accomplished in just four days of its launch. Tech-for-good platform easyfundraising is inviting all third sector organisations in our area to take part in a short survey to discover the impact on fundraising in 2023. Barnet’s warm spaces continue to support residents At the beginning of winter, a number of Barnet business and community groups opened their doors to residents to provide free activities, warm drinks and a welcoming space. As we continue to experience cold weather, many of these spaces are staying open, and we are welcoming more spaces to join the scheme. With over 40 warm spaces across the borough, our local partners are going above and beyond to keep local residents warm, provide a space to socialise and access support through these cold months. Shopping in a Barnet Tesco this month? Help AgeUK Barnet raise funds If you happen to be shopping in any of the Tesco branches in Barnet during April, please ask for a blue community token. AgeUK Barnet are part of the Tesco Community fundraising scheme this month. Shoppers are given a token to pop into the box of one of three causes. They are raising money to provide games and activities for people living with dementia in our day clubs and for our dementia befrienders on home visits. So please think of them - the more tokens they get, the more money they receive. Do you have the right photo ID to vote?
