ADDRESSING REPORTS REGARDING THE SEC STABLES

EWA recently became aware of several social media reports stating that horses that had attended the SEC had developed skin conditions, allegedly in relation to use of the SEC stables. MORE

JOINT COMMUNIQUE

Representatives of the boards of Equestrian Australia (EA) and state and territory branches met last week in Melbourne to discuss the future direction of the equestrian sport. The meeting was organised in response to some of the states expressing general dissatisfaction at the way the sport was being administered by EA. MORE

EA COACHING UPDATE

EA has released a statement addressing the recent coaching insurance fee increases. They have also outlined the ways in which they plan to address the current EA Coaching Program over the next 12 months, amid concerns of slipping standards from members. MORE

SAM JONES SELECTED FOR WEG ENDURANCE TEAM

We are pleased to announce the WA endurance athlete, Samantha Jones, has been selected as a member of the Australian Endurance Team competing at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games in Tyron, USA, from 11-13 September. Samantha was instated following the unfortunate euthanisation of FLF Go Flight Leader, owned and ridden by Jodie Salinas, following fatal complications subsequent to colic. MORE

CLASSIFICATION EOI

EA is requesting expressions of interest from athletes wishing to become Classified for Para-Equestrian or have a Review Status in 2018. A Classification Day will be held on Tuesday 16 October (Physical Assessment) and Wednesday 17 October (Ridden Assessment) in conjunction with the 2018 Martin Collins Australian Dressage Championships at Boneo Park, Victoria. SHOW HORSE - NEWS

HOTY MEASURING & SHOW OFFICE

Measuring - Official measuring will be available on Friday 7 & Saturday 8 September at the State Equestrian Centre (measuring bay located near the stable wash bays) from 7:00-10:00am. Horses do not need to be competing in HOTY to get measured, however no stallions are permitted.

Show Office - Competitors are advised that the show office will be open at the following times:

  • Thursday: Until 5pm
  • Friday: 6-9am, 12-1pm, 3-5pm
  • Saturday: 6-9am, 12-1pm, 4-6pm
  • Sunday 6-10am

VALE CLAIRE PARKER

The EWA Show Horse Committee was saddened to hear that Claire, the daughter of Leonie and Ian Parker, passed away on Friday August 10. The Parker family have always been an important part of the Equestrian WA Show Horse community. Claire will be sadly missed by us all and our heartfelt sympathy is with Isabelle and with Leonie, Ian, Cecile and Brendan.
