2016 Fritzsche Oration
This year's oration will be delivered on Friday 19 August at 7.30 pm in the Refectory at Australian Lutheran College.
Under the working title Professorial Personalities – Luther Seminary’s Early Years, Dr Vic Pfitzner (lecturer 1968-2004; principal 1989-1997) hopes to offer recollections on the personalities associated with the beginnings of the new united Luther Seminary formed in 1968.
All are welcome to attend.

Public Lecture
Entertaining Angels – Christian Hospitality in the Refugee Age
Dr Patrick Keifert, author of Welcoming the Stranger, a public theology of worship and evangelism, will speak on this original work at a public lecture being held at Australian Lutheran College on Friday 26 August at 1.30 pm presenting it from the standpoint of the 21st century’s migration and refugee context. All are welcome to attend.

Evening classes
Registrations for the 2016 evening classes at Australian Lutheran College are now open. Anyone is welcome to join one of the three classes on offer: Theology in the public square; Living…by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God or Luther then and now. These four-week classes will be held on each Tuesday of September from 7.00pm to 930pm. Cost is $50 per person ($35 concession) on campus; $30 for webinar (Theology in the public square only). Director of Lutheran World Federation’s Department for World Service is coming to Australia.

You are warmly invited to meet her and listen as she speaks about refugees and aid development work.

Maria will speak about the aid and community development work supported by Lutherans around the globe, and the role we all play in a world which now hosts more refugees than any other time since the World War II.

Maria heads up the world’s fifth largest partner to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and is the key implementing partner for Australian Lutheran World Service.
