Bring A Friend to Church Day UpdateHey, Pastor Rodlie, here. I just wanted to give an update regarding our bring-a-friend-to-church launch. As you know, we’ve been praying about this initiative for months. We sent out invites to 5,000 homes in our community. We put up a commercial on social media. But, most importantly, you invited your friends. You stepped out of your comfort zone and invited them to come with you, and they did. Here are some stats we should celebrate: So there is much to praise God for. The series is not done, though, so keep inviting your friends!
Adventurer First MeetingThe first Adventurer Club meeting will be held Sunday, September 15, at 10:00 AM in the Pioneer Classrooms.
Arise Intensive
The truth is that once in a while, we all need a reset in our Christian experience, whether you’re a brand-new Christian or a 103-year-old church elder. Join us for a weekend that aims to re-introduce you to the God of the most beautiful story ever told. He longs for us to understand the biblical narrative—a story all about redemption, relationship, restoration, and re-creation. During the weekend, they’ll be breaking down the big picture of Scripture, reframing who God is in light of the Bible as a story, and giving you some practical tools for your Christian experience and witness. Our hope is that as we dig into the Story of the Bible, you’ll fall in love with God all over again and become part of an active community of storytellers who want to build His Kingdom. The regular cost is $125, but for Andrews Students, it can be as inexpensive as $65. For more information and to register, go to www.ariseintensive.com. Finally, Andrews students will receive 10 co-currIcular credits for attending.
Guidance for Nurturing ChildrenLearn strategies each month from experts in parenting and child development to address your concerns in raising children. Topics to be covered will be chosen by those who attend the first meeting. Possible topics are discipline techniques, emotion regulation for kids and parents, communication skills, peer involvement, and how to compromise with your kids. Led by Alina M. Baltazar, Ph.D., MSW, licensed clinical social worker, family therapist, and certified family life educator. Beginning Sunday, September 15, 10:30 a.m. in the youth chapel and continuing on the third Sunday of each month. Sponsored by the Family Life Committee.
