PODCAST: Pat Halpin-Murphy Leads Charge for 3D Mammogram Coverage



PA Breast Cancer Coalition President and Founder Pat Halpin-Murphy was recently featured on the podcast, Outsmarting Breast Cancer, with Nancy Brinker, Susan G. Komen founder and Global Advisor to Hologic. Pat has dedicated her life to breaking down barriers to breast cancer screening, early detection and research. In this podcast, she discusses the PBCC's role in working with Governor Tom Wolf to secure free 3D screening mammograms for women insured under Pennsylvania law. Pat led the charge to get mammograms covered for women across the state and continues to fight for survivors and families.



Behind the Scenes: Cyberknife Technology Offers New Breast Cancer Treatment Options in PA

Each day doctors, medical professionals and researchers are working on ways to treat breast cancer. The medical team at Pottstown Memorial Regional Cancer Center is taking part in clinical trials and studies using the CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System. This form of radiation treatment can be completed in up to five sessions with minimal side effects. Medical Director of Pottstown Memorial Regional Cancer Center Dr. Michael Lambo sat down with PBCC President and Founder Pat Halpin-Murphy to discuss how this form of treatment works.
