EA SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY UPDATED

The Board of Equestrian Australia (EA) has recently approved an updated Social Media Policy effective 23 February. EA encourages all persons bound by this policy (refer to section 2 – Policy Application) to use social media within the parameters outlined in this policy to ensure that the reputations of EA, and its athletes, coaches, officials, employees, volunteers and stakeholders are protected.

EA AND RDA CONTINUE PARTNERSHIP

Equestrian Australia is pleased to announce that it has renewed its partnership with the Riding for Disabled Association of Australia (RDA). Under this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), EA and the RDA will join forces to assist riders with a disability to maximise opportunities available to them in Equestrian sport nationally. MORE

A final reminder that EA National Judges in Show Horse and Dressage are currently due to submit re-accreditation paperwork. This occurs every three years and for these officials, paperwork must be submitted by 31 March 2018, after which time names of non-complying officials will drop off the Officials search until this work is complete. EWA La Noir Saddleworld High Performance is excited to present a High Performance clinic with Lone Jorgensen. Lone is a Dual Olympian and Elite dressage coach and regularly works with High Performance riders to success. Lone will also be presenting a Master Class open to all dressage enthusiasts at 7:00pm on Saturday 21 April at the State Equestrian Centre. EWA would like to thank Anna Latto of Anna Latto Equestrian for hosting Lone for this clinic.

FREESTYLES COMPULSORY AT 2018 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Freestyle tests will be made compulsory across all levels of Competitor tests for combinations to be eligible for Competitor Championships at the WA State Dressage Championships to be held on 1 & 2 September. More information will be made available closer to the event.

ELEMENTARY (E) MEDIUM (D) EA JUDGES SEMINAR

Date/Time: 11 March, 8:30am registration
Location: State Equestrian Centre
Cost: E/D Judges Free, Other EA Judges & Trainees $20, Non-Judges $30

Presented by Ginny Creed (FEI 3* Judge, EA-A level Judge Educator).

  • Getting the foundations in place.
  • The introduction of lateral work, shoulder in, travers, renvers, half pass.
  • The progression from turn on the haunches to walk pirouettes.
  • Simple changes - Why they are ridden and test requirements.
  • Introduction to flying changes - What is the judge looking for and how should they be executed in a test?

This seminar is essential for judging, coaching or riding at these levels. All welcome, so join us for what will be a very informative and helpful seminar. Please bring your own lunch (no food heating facilities) or the local shops will be open. Morning and afternoon tea provided.

SEC CROSS COUNTRY COURSE CLOSURES

The State Equestrian Centre cross country course will be closed for the WAYER CIC event as per 'EA 536.5 CNC/CCN Practice Restrictions' and to allow for event setup.

  • From 2 March - Closed to WAYER competitors
  • From 16 March - Closed to everyone
  • 3 April - Course reopens

SEMINAR
FRANGIBLE DEVICE & RISK MANAGEMENT

Date/Time: Friday 30 March, 3:00pm-6:00pm
Location: State Equestrian Centre, Classroom on President's Lawn
Cost: $20

Course presenters are Geoff Sinclair 3*/4* Technical Delegate and FEI Risk Management Officer and John Nicholson FEI 3*/4* XC Course Designer. The seminar will cover cross country construction for improved risk management and safety, covering the types of obstacles that now require frangible devices, the different types of devices and their correct installation. Including a review of cross-country guidelines and rules.
