Retrofit covers on TMAs

Where traffic is required to follow the shadow vehicle the RD6L/R must not be displayed. When the RD6L/R is not required to be shown, the arrow component must not be visible to road users.

Retrofit covers which partially obscure the arrow may be used until 31 December 2020, after which date Waka Kotahi requires them to be replaced by a system that does not adopt the down arrow position.

TTM planner assessments

As the deadline for TTM planners to hold the TTM planner warrant approaches I would like to remind all those who have attended the workshop to submit their assessments as soon as possible.

We expect an influx of assessments in the next few months and would like to avoid a backlog so you can receive your results in a timely manner.

Please send your assessment to ttmp@copttm.co.nz.

TTM worker unit standard

The TTM worker learning pack was rolled out to TTM Mentors in late 2019. Now that the unit standard documentation has been finalised I encourage all those new to the TTM industry to start with this foundational workshop.

How

Find a TTM Mentor and attend TTM worker training with them. This training consists of approximately 2 hours classroom or handbook learning, and 6 hours hands on practice and assessment with the mentor. The mentor will adapt the mentoring sessions to suit the worker's learning style.

The practice and assessment will include time on a live network and this will occur once you and your mentor are confident in your abilities.

You will complete the required tasks listed in the TTM worker assessment document while the mentor observes and records your achievements. This official assessment paperwork is then sent to an assessor for sign off and awarding of the unit standard (note that your mentor may also be an assessor).

In the near future the TTM worker unit standard will become a pre-requisite for anyone attending a TC workshop. This unit standard also forms part of the Certificate in Temporary Traffic Worksite Management.

TTM Conference 2020 “Forming the Connection”

The theme of the 2020 TTM Conference is Forming the Connection. It is all about making the connection between people and organisations in all aspects of temporary traffic management and the risks that need to be managed through planning and implementation at worksites.  With the current review of CoPTTM and the Worksafe “Guide to Roadworker Safety” what better time to get together to ensure safety in our roles is realistic.

This year’s TTM conference is being being organised, run and hosted independently by Two Country Bunkins Ltd. It has been an extraordinarily difficult year for everyone alongside an exciting and significant amount of change for the industry. Two Country Bunkins have decided to bring the industry together to hear from key people and discuss the changes and how you can help shape the outcomes.
Register for the TTM conference now, standard pricing is available until 30 September
