St John's School Newsletter Term 3 Week 9 St John's is a Child Safe School where all children are respected and are protected from harm. ![]() Principal's Message Dear Families, We have been advised that at this stage, Remote Learning will continue until the end of Term 3, but there could be announcements this week that may change this. We will let you know as soon as we know. School Closure Day - Next Friday 17th September will be a School Closure Day. There will be no on-site supervision or remote learning on this day. Staff will be joining with FCJ and St Joseph’s Benalla staff to take part in Professional Development. Naplan - Naplan results for students in Years 3 and 5 will be posted out tomorrow. If you have any questions about the results, please email your child’s homeroom teacher. Hopefully we have everyones correct addresses. Brenton - Brenton has left the building and has started his new job for Catholic Education Limited in Bendigo. It was a very emotional day for everyone on Friday. We wish him all the best. If you have any ICT questions, please be patient as Miss King is still running her homeroom as well as picking up Brenton’s role. Remote Learning - Remote Learning challenging. Please don’t stress about just do the best you can. If there are days when you only do a little bit or need a day away, then that is absolutely fine. When we return to face to face learning, we will catch everyone up and, but we cannot catch up on your mental health. Only do what you can, every other school and students in Victoria and NSW are in exactly the same position. Be kind to yourself and your family. On Site Supervision - Requests for supervision for next week must be emailed to me no later than 12.00pm, this Friday. Please be aware that we are not allowed to teach students who attend on site supervision. We are here to supervise these children only. Students who attend on-site still do their learning remotely through Google Meets, just the same as every other student. We are not allowed to teach students on-site as this would be discriminatory to those students learning from home. If you need support with your child’s learning, please get in touch with your child’s teacher via email, as they too are working from home – in many cases with their children - and they will do their best to get in touch with you. On-site supervision is only available to children of authorised workers where both parents (or one parent in the case of single parent families) cannot work from home and no other supervision arrangements can be made. If you are an authorised worker and working from home, you must keep your child at home. We live in a small community so please be honest about working from home. We understand how tough this is for everybody, however we must follow guidelines set out by the Government.
