OPEN CONSULTATION ON

Australia’s environmental
predictive capability

You’re invited to join consultation meetings in February 2020
to help shape the development of a key support system for
Australia’s research and decision-making communities.

About
the Events

The 2016 National Research Infrastructure (NRI) Roadmap identified a National Environmental Prediction System (NEPS) as a potential new research capability and a scoping study was endorsed via the 2018 Research Infrastructure Investment Plan.

Open consultation on the requirements in research infrastructure toward enabling environmental prediction will be carried out in February 2020 across capital cities.

Do you have ideas about how a national environmental prediction system should be designed and ways in which it might be used?

We invite you to help shape the development of this key support system for Australia’s research and decision-making communities.

Look at the draft system design at http://science.uq.edu.au/neps

Come along to a meeting or join by Zoom (video conference) and help formulate inspired options for the system design, governance structure and business model to be submitted to the Australian Government in 2020.

Discussions will be broad enough for both those with little background knowledge on environmental prediction and the proposed NEPS and those who are already expertly carrying out or using environmental predictions.

The consultations are being organised by TERN on behalf of the NEPS Scoping Study Expert Panel and will be facilitated by Michelle Barker, Donald Hobern and Angela Gackle.
