(Thank goodness we're not branded for next year's zodiac animal: the Rabbit. The North Beach Bunnies doesn't have quite the same ring to it 🐇). Future editions: match reports for all of our junior and youth teams will appear in this newsletter, each and every week. - Ed From the PresidentIt’s that time of the year again. Footy is banging down the door. Let's open the clubhouse and welcome back our families, team mates, coaches and friends. I've put the jumper leads on the siren and I'm about to give the big red button a push to start the 2022 season 🔴. The NBJFC and the WA Football Commission recognises that club volunteers and administrators make a significant contribution to Community Football. It's also acknowledged that the demands on club volunteers increase each year along with the need for clubs to operate in a professional manner. Please bare this in mind and be respectful to our volunteers; they’ve been working extremely hard to ensure all teams are prepared for the 2022 season. Remember that our volunteers have families and work commitments just like you. I am extremely proud to be part of the dedicated and committed team at NBJFC. We’re are all striving to make our club a great place. Below is a short video on where it all starts. Umpires play a key role in the successful delivery of Community Football. And coaches, officials, players and parents have a vital role to play in developing the highest quality umpires. Accordingly, it is an expectation of community football and our club that players, officials, parents, and spectators are supportive and respectful of umpires at all times. The NBJFC has ZERO TOLERANCE for dissent and abuse. If players, officials, parents or spectators wish to comment on an umpire’s performance, it must be in writing to the Umpires Coach via the Club President. Only the Captain or Team Manager can approach an umpire during the breaks in a match. Remember that the umpires probably have a proud parent sitting on the sidelines watching their son or daughter do their bit for community football. A personal request: please don’t let your focus be to win at all costs. There is more to life and our wonderful game than premiership points. We want to maximise the enjoyment and development of our Junior and Youth Footballers. Let them be kids. Finally I would like to thank all of the new members who have chosen to play at NBJFC this year. And I'd also like to thank our returning players and parents; your continued support is crucial to our club. Without you, we wouldn't exist. Go the Beach! Ron Van Der Sluys Your President Editor's note: Is anyone else astonished that Ron has promoted Dencorub in his opening salvo? Tiger Balm is surely the sports rub of choice at NBJFC 🐯. (Too few and far between) I'm pleased to report that NBJFC's amazing Girl's Football Program has gone from strength to STRENGTH in 2022, and is enjoying incredible support from the top brass, coaches, players and parents alike. We now have 160+ Tigresses across 10 teams. This includes three Year 9/10 sides, which we understand to be a first for any club in WA. It's also worth highlighting that two of our girls teams have female coaches this year. Lani Johns is at the helm for Year 5/6 Red. Zara Maggs, Asha Dickerson and Jordan Irvine (all pictured below) have teamed up to coach Year 3/4 Gold. Girls supporting girls, in a club committed to supporting girls. This is a wonderful thing. 2022 Sponsors WallThe North Beach Junior Football Club would like to welcome back the following Partners and Sponsors for Season 2022: And a warm welcome to our new Premium Sponsor for 2022, Central Lending Solutions, and to Growplay Monkey Bars Australia, who also recently joined as a sponsor for the new season.
