While not all finalists took home an Award, all are to be congratulated for simply being a finalist - this itself says much about what they do and their standing in the outdoor community. Good Practice Guide (GPG) for ‘Canyoning’ has just been released for public comment. Members of the outdoors community can: Australian Standards We are currently investigating ways to make a number of Australian Standards more available to our Green Circle members for a modest fee. To do this we need to know what Standards you think would be most useful - for example, today we had a request for the new 2018 ISO 31000 Risk Management. The UPLOADS App is a web-based application also accessible offline and is used to record: incident reports; LOA participation data; and action plans ... Although over 28 organisations have been recruited to use the UPLOADS App so far, more are still needed to meet minimum requirements. Despite working in the “great” outdoors, the Australian outdoor sector has not been great at measuring how we operate. In addition to providing the outdoor sector with critical data to better understand and help prevent incidents, the UPLOADS app is also a way of measuring participation data on outdoor activities. By measuring participation in different activities across the Australian led outdoor scene, the UPLOADS app can contribute to an improved understanding of what’s happening and where.
