Raise the Rinks Update

AMHA is pleased to share that we are one step closer to paying off our $469,000 commitment to the City of Airdrie for the expedited construction of the twin arenas at Genesis Place. Our total paid to the City of Airdrie to date is $326,133.45 (over and above ice rental costs)

Remaining payments
-       August 31, 2016 - $71,432.85
-       August 31, 2017 - $71,432.85

Funds raised thru the AMHA Mattamy Homes Golf Tournament, Year End Raise the Rinks Campaign and thru a $25/player fee at the time of registration play a large part in our ability to meet our commitment. Thank you to everyone who continues to keep Raise the Rinks moving forward!

Airdrie Minor Hockey Mattamy Homes Fundraising Golf Tournament

On September 11th, AMHA hosted our 4th annual AMHA/Mattamy Homes Golf Classic. Once again this event was a huge success and tonnes of fun. Thank you to everyone who contributed, golfed, donated prizes and their time. This year's event was our most successful to date with the most number of golfers, very best weather AND  we raised $41,000 after expenses.

AMHA Apparel Regulations

AMHA created an apparel program which was implemented 9 seasons ago to create unity within our association. There was a point in the association where teams had individual logos, coats in a multitude of brands and colours etc and were unrecognizable to the general population. We are now, thanks to our apparel program and regulations able to say that we have unity and solid brand recognition.  Please help us retain this by reading and understanding the Apparel program and if you have questions or suggestions we invite you to bring them forward to your division director or the office.  We are proud that our association has evolved into a recognizable brand and we hope you can help us maintain it.

Regulations can be found on the AMHA website www.airdriehockey.ca

AMHA will be taking part in the Airdrie Lioness Hamper program again this year.

November 28th, 29th weekend we will be collecting Toques, Scarves and Mittens-please help us continue to make this a success. We will be collecting these items at your home games. More information will be available from your manager soon.

All parents are required to have completed the Respect in Sport Parent program before November 15th. If you are new to AMHA please start fresh. If you have completed the program but have a new player you must add your player to your profile. Both these things can be done by clicking HERE

AMHA's 10th annual Hockey Fights Hunger (the only hockey fight AMHA approves of) Campaign will kick off soon. We are encouraging teams to collect food items that are on a list which will be given to your manager. These items are high priority and we hope to see AMHA families helping those in need again this season. Stay tuned for more info!

REFUNDS

If your player did not make a travel team this season, refunds have been issued. If you paid registration fees via credit card a refund will appear on your next statement. If you paid via debit or any other form, you will be receiving a cheque in the mail. If you are expecting a refund and do not receive one by November 1st, please contact the office.

Use of Gaming Proceeds

AMHA teams are given the ability to host raffles and operate 50/50s using AMHA's AGLC privileges. The AGLC strictly  regulates these activities and all AMHA teams must follow the appropriate licensing application and reporting process. Click below to review the AGLCs use of proceeds document and please ensure your team is following this (parents, managers, coaches, we are all responsible for this). These are not suggestions, these are rules and they must be adhered to. Please note that Airdrie Minor Hockey teams do not meet the requirements to pay for such things as hotel rooms etc. For a list of appropriate spending of gaming proceeds CLICK HERE
