Fraser Northwest Division improves care for at-risk moms through collaboration and educationWhen it comes to supporting new moms with addiction issues, reducing stigma is key. This philosophy was adopted by the Fraser Northwest Division of Family Practice following the discovery —made during the primary care network community engagement process— that due to fear of stigma, many at-risk moms in the region were arriving at Royal Columbian Hospital having received little or no prenatal care. The division set out to reduce barriers and foster a united approach to care among GPs, midwives, obstetricians, pediatricians, and nurses at RCH. Read the full story.
