HOW CAN I VOTE BY MAIL?

Registered voters may request a mail-in paper ballot if they plan to be out of the county during the early voting period and on Election Day, if they are at least 65 years of age, or if they are sick or disabled. Call the Harris County Clerk’s office (information below) to request a ballot

HOW CAN I VOTE EARLY?

All Harris County voters can vote at any Harris County early voting location from Monday, October 20, 2014 through Friday, October 31, 2014. A full list of Harris County voting locations can be found online at www.harrisvotes.com. Locations within Senate District 6 are: HARDY SENIOR CENTER, MOODY PARK COMMUNITY CENTER, RIPLEY HOUSE on NAVIGATION, HCC SOUTHEAST CAMPUS, GALENA PARK LIBRARY, BAYTOWN COMMUNITY CENTER

HOW CAN I VOTE ON ELECTION DAY?

Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2014. On this day you must vote at your neighborhood polling place, located in the precinct where you are registered. You can find your precinct number on your orange voter registration certificate, and a list of polling locations is published in the newspaper just before Election Day. The polls are open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm

VOTER IDENTIFICATION

Photo ID is currently required for voting in person. Acceptable forms of identification include: Texas driver license, Texas Election Identification Certificate, Texas personal identification card, Texas concealed handgun license, United States military identification card, US citizenship certificate and US passport.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

  • On Election Day, voters who are in line at 7:00 pm must be allowed to vote.
  • Voters may be assisted by any person of their choice as they cast their ballots.
  • Voters with special needs will be accommodated at all polling places.
  • Voters may encounter problems at the polls, but may always cast a provisional ballot.

Saturday, October 25, Loteria on the Lawn, 10:00am - 2:00pm, Moody Park, 3725 Fulton St, Houston, TX 77009. Vote early at the Moody Park Community Center and then head over to the park to join the fun! We'll be playing loteria for donated door prizes, have hot dogs provided by Plumbers Local Union No. 68 and surprise entertainment!

Tuesday, November 4, Election Day

Thursday, November 6, Montie Beach Town Hall, 7:00pm - 8:30pm, Montie Beach Community Center, 915 Northwood St, Houston, TX 77009. Come get a legislative update from Senator Garcia!
