Film & Television Studio International is super excited to welcome to the studio for the first time ever, Showrunner, Creator and Senior Television Executive, DAN BENNETT.  From HOME & AWAY to NEIGHBOURS to WINNERS & LOSERS and many, many more, Dan has worked on over 1500 hours of television drama, on some of Australia's most successful and internationally renowned series. He has worked with some of the best in the business including Bevan Lee, John Edwards, John Holmes, Sue Masters, Julie McGauran, MaryAnne Carroll and Coral Drouyn to name just a few.  As his development on a brand new series for Dan Bennett Productions continues, his passion to help artists pursue their dream job in film and television also continues.  We are so excited to welcome Dan to the studio as our special guest for the Text to Screen-Test Program, Term 2, 2021.

Text to Screen-Test has been facilitated by some of Australia's most celebrated actors and directors over the years.  Term 2, 2021 is no exception.  We welcome back to the studio Gold Logie Nominee Eve Morey.  A sublime actor, best known for her outstanding work as Sonya Rebecchi on NEIGHBOURS, Eve is also an onset coach on the show, assisting actors not only with their scene/character work, but with their understanding of how they live and work as artists within the community. We are incredibly excited to welcome her back to Film & Television Studio International as one of our ongoing trainers/coaches.  Returning after a long stint in Los Angeles and the birth of his beautiful baby girl, we are thrilled to have actor Damien Bodie back in studio.  Damien needs no introduction.  He has been on our television screens in lounge rooms all across the country for over two decades. We loved him as bad boy Dylan Timmins on NEIGHBOURS and as the loveable Jonathan Kurtiss on WINNERS AND LOSERS, and all the wonderful characters he has played in between.  Due to popular demand, the gorgeous Kym Valentine is also back for Term 2.  There are very few Australian actors of Kyms generation that can boast a whopping 20 years dedicated to one Aussie drama. Of course we are talking about Libby Kennedy, a role that Kym made famous whilst starring on NEIGHBOURS. These days, in between auditioning for new roles, Kyms main focus is mentoring the next generation of performers breaking into one of the most demanding and competitive industries in the world. Kym is one of our most recognisable Australian actors; a true Aussie icon of the small screen.  Artistic Director of Film & Television Studio International and CEO of McMahon Management, Craig McMahon, will be conducting the Wednesday evening session of Text to Screen-Test in Term 2, 2021.  ***Due to time restraints, this is the only class that Craig will be conducting this term.  Places in Craig's program fill up quickly - wait list applies.  Television veteran & long-time trainer and Patron of Film & Television Studio International Simone Buchanan is also back for another fantastic term ahead.

Text to Screen-Test has been meticulously shaped to guide and encourage students to work on their specific areas requiring development, whilst bringing forth their strengths when screen-testing for prime-time drama.  Eve, Damien, Kym, Simone and Craig will work with actors both individually and as a company, assisting students to POP from moment one of an audition. Scenes are assigned to students throughout the term block, along with prep work for each session. For actors who participated in previous terms, they have another opportunity to work in this ongoing manner with our outstanding trainers & special guests. Continuing across the terms ensures stability in training & rehearsal, and consistency in terms of the guidance & feedback offered, with scenes selected to target specific areas of weakness and strength. The studio also welcomes actors to the program who have not participated in previous terms as they can begin this process, leading to a stronger understanding of the requirements of screen testing.

On the last week of term, students will be able to put their hard work into practice during their screen-testing session with Writer, Producer, Development Executive and Network Executive, DAN BENNETT.  This is a fantastic opportunity for our actors to meet and greet Dan and to recieve direction and personal feedback on their work.  He is very much looking forward to seeing the wonderful talent we have at Film & Television Studio International.

EVE MOREY // THURSDAYS // 6:30PM - 8:30PM

EVE MOREY is known for her guest appearances on PIGS BREAKFAST, HOME AND AWAY, and ALL SAINTS.  She then went on to spend a decade on Australian TV soap NEIGHBOURS as series regular Sonya Rebecchi before her characters exit in 2019.  Eve was part of the series for more than 900 episodes. During the series renewal talks, it was revealed that Eve would leave, and she pitched the story on how her character would exit. Her heartbreaking final scenes on the show earned her a Silver Logie Nomination for Best Actress and a Gold Logie Nomination. After her exit from NEIGHBOURS, Eve stayed on behind the scenes as an acting coach and mentor to actors coming on to the show. We are so excited to have Eve join our outstanding team of coaches.

CRAIG MCMAHON // WEDNESDAYS // 6:30PM - 8:30PM

Craig McMahon is the CEO & founder of McMahon Management and Film & Television Studio International.  Craig works more behind the scenes these days, busy managing his clients both in Australia and Internationally, but continues to conduct his weekly class in studio, as he is passionate about developing new talent, helping emerging performing artists pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

DAMIEN BODIE // MONDAYS // 6:30PM - 8:30PM

Beginning his journey into the film and television industry at a young age and with over two decades of evolution, Damien’s television credits include series such as Winners and Losers, Neighbours, Elephant Princess, City Homicide, Saddle Club, Guinevere Jones, Blue Heelers, Short Cuts, Crash Zone, The Man From Snowy River, and feature films Blacklight, Born Guilty and Hating Alison Ashley. Damien’s on set experiences developed a thirst for learning, having studied locally and abroad from the knowledge and skills of Larry Moss, Ivana Chubbuck and Upright Citizens Brigade.  Over a lifetime, an actor's journey rises, accelerates and pivots like a rollercoaster, and it's Damien’s mission to help performers discover the tools they need to enjoy the ride whilst they are on it.

SIMONE BUCHANAN // TUESDAYS // 6:30PM - 8:30PM

After playing Debbie Kelly for many years in Australia's most successful and longest running sitcom HEY DAD, Simone went on to star alongside Deborah Lee Furness in internationally acclaimed feature film SHAME.  Simone has also starred in many television dramas including NEIGHBOURS; McLEOD'S DAUGHTERS; BLUE HEELERS; WATER RATS; ALL SAINTS; PACIFIC DRIVE; A COUNTRY PRACTICE; SONS AND DAUGHTERS, and many more.  In addition to SHAME, her film credits include: FORCED ENTRY; PUSH; THE MAN FROM THE HIGH COUNTRY; DOCTORS AND NURSES, and MY BRILLIANT CAREER.  Most recently, Simone starred alongside Rachel Griffiths in feature film PATRICK, and UPPER MIDDLE BOGAN for the ABC.  Her film BOAR, in which she stars alongside Ernie Dingo, Hugh Sheridan and John Jarratt, was recently released in cinemas, nationally.  In 2018 Simone completed her Directors attachment on Australia's longest running serial drama, NEIGHBOURS, and is now one of the regular Directors on the show.  There is no end to her talents as an actor, director and trainer, and we are incredibly proud to have her as our Patron.

KYM VALENTINE // SUNDAYS // 6:30PM - 10:00PM

KYM VALENTINE has been working as an actor on Australian Television since she was 4 years old. With over 1000 episodes of NEIGHBOURS under her belt (across 20 years as Ramsay Street’s beloved Libby Kennedy), when it comes to fast turn around TV, Kym is an undeniable wealth of knowledge and industry know-how that any Australian emerging actor would be privileged to learn from.
