Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

This Friday, Term 3 ends at 2:15 pm.  I hope everyone enjoys the holiday break away from screens and can enjoy time outside in the sun . Thank you to all of our families for their patience, understanding and support over the term, it has been long and at times frustrating. We are blessed to have such supportive families in our community.
Thank you to all of the St John’s staff.  Every staff member has given over and above during the term and didn’t give up when times were challenging. You continued to make the needs of our students your priority.                            Return to School - Term 4 Week 1 (5 th- 9 th Oct) Remote learning continues. On site supervision is available under the current guidelines. Please email prinicipal@sjeuroa.catholic.edu.au to apply for student supervision for that week. Remote learning ceases on Friday 9th October.
Week 2 (12th –16th Oct) ALL students return to onsite learning. These are the current arrangements and may change before Term 4 begins.  If there are any changes, we will notify you by email and Facebook, so please keep checking these over the holiday break.
Safety Measures - Each morning when students arrive at school they will have their hands sanitised and their temperature taken. If a student has a temperature over 37.5 degrees C they will not be permitted to remain at school. Sanitisation procedures that were in place before the last lockdown will continue for staff and students. Staff will continue to socially distance and
wear masks except for when they are teaching. Students are welcome to wear masks during break times but will need to remove their masks during class times.
Enrolments - We hope to finalise our enrolments for 2021 soon. If you know of any families who would like to enrol their child into our school please encourage them to get in touch with us soon.
Foundation Transition and Year 6 Graduation - We are yet to receive notification from the Catholic Education Office and the Education
Department about if and how we can hold 2021 Foundation Transition and the Year 6 Graduation Mass and dinner. I hope that we may be informed early in Term 4.
Mercy Cross - Last year the school began working with sculptor Gael O’Leary to have a Mercy Cross cast in bronze for left hand side of the entrance to the school. The cross is now ready and over the holidays the granite plinth will be craned into place ready for the arrival of the cross later in the year. The cross, when sitting on the plinth will be about 2meters high and will be a beautiful acknowledgment of the contribution of the Mercy sisters to our school.

Thank you to the Burtons and the Bickertons for the doughnuts and cake.

Have a great week,

Libby

Week 6 Prayer

Week 10 Prayer: Forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22)

At that point Peter got up the nerve to ask, “Master, how many times do I forgive a brother or sister who hurts me? Seven?” Jesus replied, “Seven! Hardly. Try seventy times seven”.  We need patience throughout our daily lives, and not just when someone needs forgiveness. Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, so ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in those tough moments!

The Lord is kind and merciful, slow to anger, and rich in compassion.

We are called on to forgive many in our world.  Peter asks, “How often should I forgive?” Jesus replies, “Not seven but seventy-seven times”.

We are called on to forgive many in the church: Peter asks, “How often should I forgive?” Jesus replies, “Not seven but seventy-seven times”.

We are called on to forgive many among the suffering. Peter asks, “How often should I forgive?” Jesus replies, “Not seven but seventy-seven times”.

We need to forgive and be forgiven: Peter asks, “How often should I forgive?” Jesus replies, “Not seven but seventy-seven times”.
